Ten at launch, twelve with Deluxe

The Standard edition includes ten playable civilians: Laurie Strode, Annie Brackett, Lynda van der Klok and Bob Simms carried over from the 1978 film, plus six characters created for this game. Digital Deluxe adds Richard and Alexis for twelve. Michael Myers is played separately, in both the story mode and the 1v4 mode.

The four returning from the film

These are reimagined versions rather than archive likenesses, and each has a credited voice performer. All four are in the Standard edition, and all four appear in the story mode as well as being playable in multiplayer.

The six created for this game

The new residents are written as ordinary Haddonfield townspeople rather than as archetypes, and their published biographies are background rather than mechanics. One quirk is worth flagging: the developer’s roster post profiles only five of them. The sixth, Eric, appears by name on the civilian select screen in the official progression screenshots but has no written profile, so his surname is not public.

Richard and Alexis are bought, not unlocked

Costumes come from the story mode

Each civilian ships with a default multiplayer outfit, and completing challenges in the single-player story unlocks alternates — including looks drawn from the original film. That links two parts of the game people often treat separately: if you want the film-accurate version of a character for multiplayer, the route runs through single-player challenges rather than through match rewards.

Why there is no tier list

The developer has published biographies, voice credits and appearance details. It has not published ability values, stat differences or any indication that civilians differ mechanically at all. Until something establishes that they do, ranking them would be inventing a distinction the source material does not make. Pick the one you want to look at for a few hundred matches.

Frequently asked questions

Can two players pick the same civilian?

Nothing published addresses duplicate picks in a lobby. Civilian levels are tracked per character, which implies individual identity, but that is not the same as a stated rule.

Is Michael a character you unlock?

No. Michael is the killer role in the 1v4 mode and the protagonist of the story mode. His customisation runs through killer and weapon progression rather than through the civilian roster.

Will more characters be added?

No post-launch roster additions have been announced. The only characters beyond the ten are the two Deluxe entitlements.
