October 6, consoles only, two boxes

Halloween: The Game gets two physical editions on October 6, 2026, four weeks after the digital release. Both are PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X only — no PC disc is listed. The Physical Standard Edition is $39.99 and the Physical Collector’s Edition is $149.99 in limited quantities.

What is in each box

Both editions carry the game on disc and share two items — the Clown skin for Michael and an exclusive poster. Everything above that is what the extra $110 buys. Note that the skins and cosmetics are labelled advance access rather than exclusive, which is a meaningfully weaker promise: it indicates you get them early, not that nobody else will ever have them.

Why the date is different from the one you probably saw

Almost all launch coverage refers to September 8, which is the digital release. The discs are a separate date four weeks later, and the two get conflated constantly. October 6, 2026 falls on a Tuesday, the conventional North American release day. Pre-orders through retailers may show their own estimated arrival windows, which are shipping estimates rather than the publisher’s street date.

What is not settled

Limited quantities is the developer’s own phrasing for the Collector’s Edition and no number has been published, so treat scarcity claims from resellers as unverified. Regional pricing outside the US has not been announced either — the two figures here are the stated US prices. The listing also ends with an unspecified promise of further contents, which by definition cannot be evaluated yet.

Frequently asked questions

Do the disc editions include the digital Deluxe content?

No. The Deluxe entitlements — Inmate Michael, Richard and Alexis, the Laurie cosmetic and the comic — are a separate digital bundle. The discs carry their own Clown and Samhain skins and civilian cosmetics instead.

Does buying the disc give early access?

No. The four-day head start was tied to the Digital Deluxe edition in early September and had already passed before the discs ship.

Is there an Xbox Series S disc?

The announcement names Xbox Series X. The Series S has no disc drive in its standard configuration, so a disc edition for it would not be usable regardless.

If the cosmetics matter more than the box, the digital edition comparison sets out what Deluxe adds that the discs do not.
