Windows 11, an SSD and at least 16 GB of RAM
Read the requirements as a whole system
A graphics card that appears in the minimum column does not cancel the operating-system, memory and storage requirements. Start by comparing all of them. This is especially useful on an older desktop with a newer GPU, or a laptop whose product name says little about the graphics chip inside.
| Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 11, 64-bit | Windows 11, 64-bit |
| CPU category | Intel LGA 1200+ / AMD AM4+ (Zen 2+) | Intel LGA 1700+ / AMD AM5+ |
| System memory | 16 GB | 32 GB |
| Graphics category | GTX 1660+ / RX 590+ / Arc A770+ | RTX 3000 series / RX 7000 series |
| Listed graphics target | 1080p at 30 fps | 4K at 30 fps |
| Graphics API | DirectX 12 | DirectX 12 |
| Free storage | 45 GB on SSD/NVMe | 45 GB on SSD/NVMe |
| Connection | Broadband internet | Broadband internet |
The CPU rows are not exact processor models
LGA 1200 and LGA 1700 are Intel platform/socket labels; AM4 and AM5 are AMD platform labels. They describe families of hardware, not one measured processor. The minimum AMD row additionally names Zen 2 or later. Do not simplify that into “any AM4 CPU” and discard the architecture qualifier.
If you are checking an existing computer, record the exact CPU model, not only the motherboard socket. If you are considering buying hardware, this listing alone is too broad to justify a particular upgrade. Seek a test of the actual processor and graphics pairing at your intended resolution.
The same caution applies when someone says they meet recommended requirements because their graphics card belongs to a named series. Products within a family do not all have identical performance. The page gives a broad category and a target, not a guarantee for every model, laptop power limit or graphics preset.
Thirty frames per second is not a sixty-fps promise
Both performance annotations in the listing use 30 fps. If your goal is a locked 60 fps or a high-refresh multiplayer setup, do not read the recommended column as confirmation of that goal. Nor does “4K at 30 fps” tell us the precise preset, upscaling mode or demanding scene used by the developer.
A useful performance comparison needs the same resolution, settings, game version and comparable scene. A menu running smoothly says little about a busy match. Conversely, a single stutter during installation or shader work is not enough to establish the sustained frame rate.
For your own baseline, start with the game’s available settings and a repeatable scene. Record the current resolution and preset before changing them. Then adjust one available option at a time and compare the same situation. This is a general measurement approach, not a tested best-settings preset for Halloween.
- Keep resolution and graphics preset in any performance report.
- Distinguish consistently low frame rate from intermittent stuttering.
- Record whether the issue happens in story, a private match or online play.
- Do not present an unmeasured settings combination as an optimized preset.
Storage capacity and storage type are separate checks
Having 45 GB free on a mechanical hard drive does not meet the published SSD/NVMe condition. Check the drive on which you intend to install the game, not the drive that happens to contain Windows. A computer can have both kinds of storage.
Also distinguish the game’s listed free-space requirement from the space a store may request while installing or applying an update. The published figure is not a guarantee that filling a drive to that exact remaining amount will leave enough working room for every update. Follow the installer’s actual space message rather than deleting unrelated files to chase a single number.
If the installer reports insufficient space, inspect the selected library location first. Moving or removing personal files is not a game-specific fix and should not be the first blind step. Use your storefront’s supported library-management controls if you decide to change where the game is installed.
Windows 10 is outside the published specification
The safe answer to “does Halloween work on Windows 10?” is narrower than either a universal yes or a universal no. The official store specification names Windows 11. We do not have a reproducible Windows 10 test that establishes the shipped game’s compatibility across builds and hardware.
A community launch report can show that one installation reached a certain point. It does not automatically establish reliable multiplayer, anti-cheat compatibility or continued support after updates. If someone reports success, the useful details are the Windows build, game build, hardware and which modes actually ran.
Do not disable security features, bypass anti-cheat or install an unofficial executable to turn an unsupported configuration into an apparent pass. Steam identifies Easy Anti-Cheat in the product information. A bypass is not an official compatibility solution. Ask official support about your configuration before making a major operating-system change just for this game.
A useful support report is more than “my PC meets minimum”
When asking for help, provide the exact part names and the point where the failure occurs. A crash before the menu, a disconnect during matchmaking and a low frame rate in a busy area are different symptoms. Meeting minimum specifications does not explain which one you have.
Include the game version and storefront, then compare the symptom against the published hotfix. If a fix has already shipped, establish that your installed version includes it before repeating the same test. Avoid changing multiple drivers, deleting saves and reinstalling Windows as one combined experiment; you would lose the ability to tell which change mattered.
- CPU model, GPU model and system RAM.
- Windows version/build and graphics-driver version.
- Game version, storefront and installation drive type.
- Exact error text and the last action before failure.
- Whether the problem repeats after the latest available update.
Frequently asked questions
Is 16 GB RAM enough?
It meets the listed minimum memory amount. The recommended figure is 32 GB, and memory alone does not establish whether the whole system meets the requirements.
Can I install it on an HDD?
The publisher specifically requires SSD/NVMe storage. An HDD with enough free capacity does not satisfy that published condition.
Does the recommended PC target 60 fps?
No. The listed recommended graphics annotation is 4K at 30 fps. No tested 60-fps hardware recommendation is supplied here.
Are these Steam Deck or Linux requirements?
No. These are the Windows PC specifications. They are not a Steam Deck certification, Proton test or Linux support statement.
